Mission
The
mission of the College
of Veterinary Medicine is to provide teaching, research and public engagement programs that
benefit the animals, people and environment of the province kurdistan. through
the promotion of animal health, alleviation of animal suffering, efficient and
responsible animal production, conservation of animal and broader ecological
resources, and protection of public health.
The College
of
Veterinary Medicine was first established in 1995 as the sixth
faculty in the university
of
Sulaimani.The academic study lasts for five years.The language of study is
English. The graduates are obtained Bachelor degree in Veterinary Medicine &
Surgery ( B.V.M&S ).
The
objectives of this college include the preparation of skilful
Veterinary doctors to contribute in developing animal population by proper
diagnosis, treatment , protection , hygiene and welfare.protection of public
health from zoonotic diseases , through providing hygienic animal products is
another objective of our graduates , also preserving the wild life and
protection of the environment.
The Faculty
Council consists of 5 faculty members with one representative from each of the
five Departments, wich include Basic science
Depar. , Microbiology Depar., Medicine&Clinic Depar. ,
Anatomy&Histopathology Depar., last is Surgery&Obestetric.
Summer training courses For fifth year students
The purpose of this course is to promote and prepare vet.students to become more
familiar with their future job. Usually begins at 1st of July to 31 of August in
the teaching veterinary hospital wich belongs to college of veterinary medicine/
University
of Sulaimani.
The instruction in
this course mainly is visiting villages of sulaimani province, profession of
students to get proper diagnosis and treatment of diseased animals,welfar and
cultured society.also in teaching veterinary hospital the curriculum subjectes
are present :
